The Queen

The queen arrived in Malta on Friday 27th November, 2015. She stayed in Weston Hotel. The queen has already been to Malta many times before, when she was a princess. She came to Malta because of the CHOGM and she met the prime minister of Malta Joseph Muscat and the president Mary Louise Coleiro Preca. They talked about the climate change during the CHOGM. They also talked about the problem of the immigration. When queen Elizabeth was in Malta she visited some interesting places like for example Heritage Malta. We were honoured by the visit of the queen and we hope she visits us again.

Maltese Traditions

Maltese traditions.
The Maltese Islands have a number of religious festivities and cultural events that take place every year. Feast days are the life of this small Island and some holy days are actually national holidays. Such as the feast of St. Mary which is held in mid- August. Maltese people are also known for fireworks and Catherine wheels. My village feast in Mqabba, is held on the third week of June. The feast of ‘Madonna tal-Gilju’ is popular for the fireworks display that is held on Saturday. In Zejtun there are two feasts the Zejtun Band and the Beland Band. These two feasts are both popular. These feasts are also held on the third week of June. I guess my friends and I live for the feast in our towns : ) !
